THE SOLAR SYSTEM

THE SUN: it is a big star. It gives us heat and light. It is at the centre of the Solar System.

THE PLANETS: there are 8 planets in the Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. They move around the Sun.

ROTATION: it is the movement of the Earth on its axis. Rotation causes day and night. One rotation takes 24 hours.

REVOLUTION: it is the Earth´s movement around the Sun. Revolution causes the four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). One revolution takes one year (365 days).

The Sun, the Earth and the Moon

The Sun is a star. It´s at the centre of our Solar System. There are eight planets in the Solar System. The Earth is a planet. The Moon is a satellite.
